Kelly Shenton is a member of Kingsley Gardeners' Association, which has just held its annual show. The 35-year-old, of High Street, Kingsley, works as a commercial manager for Rockwood Pigments and is married to Marc, aged 37. The couple recently enjoyed a meal at Reds, in Boundary, near Cheadle.

"REDS is the restaurant at The Red Lion Inn, which is in a lovely spot just off the main road, surrounded by fields.

I went there with my husband for the first time earlier this month.

The menu was varied, the food was good and it was presented in a bistro style.

We didn't have a starter and for my main course I picked local sausages with a Cheddar mash and vegetables, while Marc chose chicken in a creamy mustard sauce.

The desserts were great too. I had what was billed as being 'the best chocolate pudding ever', and I have to say it was very, very good. Marc went for a meringue with strawberries and ice cream.

It was all homemade and you could tell because it was really fresh.

The restaurant was fairly busy for a Thursday night and I'd go there again."

Dear Red Lion staff,

I just wanted to say what a wonderful meal we had at the Red Lion on Wednesday 1st June. Having travelled for 4 hours from the south of England it was great to have a warm reception and great service. Every single starter, main and dessert was perfect, the drinks were great and even the house wine was lovely. The table, bar and bathroom were immaculate and clean, and the friendly professional waitress and waiters really made the evening. The birthday cupcakes were pretty and tasty. I personally really appreciated the gluten free options and will definitely be returning to try the others!

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary this week and on the recommendation of a work colleague we came to the Red Lion. Never in our many years as 'pub foodies' have we ever experienced food so superb and utterly delicious, topped off by excellent service from a most charming young lady.

Dear Red Lion Staff,

We recently started up a luncheon group who go out to eat at our local pubs Saturday lunchtimes. Our meal today was certainly the best so far.

Fantastic service from the staff and superb food. The chef was also very accommodating which is very hard to find in some "stick to the menu or leave it " restaurants you find today.

It is also wonderful to see the gluten free range as our future daughter-in-law has an intolerance to wheat so we will certainly treat her in the future. We have relatives coming next week end

so see you soon. The two pound a pint before one o'clock was very much appreciated!!!

Well done we will certainly recommend you to all we meet.
